World Issues

What "real world issues" are hidden inside of this song?

4 comments:

  1. People who fight in wars might need psychological help when they come back.

Someone who came back from the Iraq war still checks behind his back, just like the man in the song.

People who fight in wars still feel like they are at war, even when they are home.

  2. This song talks about post-traumatic stress disorder - that was very common back then.

The person in the song was totally traumatized after the war.

The song discusses the different perspectives of war: killer vs. veteran

Like Saving Private Ryan - the war had changed him severely

He went through the war and it made him feel like he was going through it every day.

He had images in the mind from the war.

PTSD - real world issue today

  3. Post traumatic stress disorder - still feels like he is there

Brother might be young and doesn't know much about the war but Dad is more experienced

The war tore apart families and everyone had different opinions
